Link Analysis and Fraud Analytics

Ryan Barnes

February 4, 2020

Ryan Barnes earned his doctorate in 2016 from Utah State University where he studied econometrics. While completing his dissertation, Ryan joined Mountain America Credit Union where he has been applying econometric techniques to the field of fraud. These statistical techniques help to uncover hidden patterns in messy data, detect anomalies, and provide a statistical framework for thinking about forensics. In addition to working in fraud Ryan has also founded Barnes Analytics, a statistics consulting firm that works on projects as diverse as wildlife game population estimation to calculating average wait times at amusement park rides.

The Utah ACFE Chapter is made up of fraud fighters who can offer a wealth of anti-fraud knowledge. If you would like to share some of the knowledge you have acquired with the chapter please schedule a presentation.

We are always on the lookout for outstanding chapter members and other individuals in the community to present at monthly chapter meetings. If you have suggestions for future presenters we would love to know.
